MUN Meeting to be held 1: 30 pm Wednesday 30 Th December, 2015
Manchester User’s Network’s (MUN} will hold a meeting of service user, members on Wednesday 30 Th December, 2015 at 1:30pm along with the group, its friends and its network of Service Users and affiliated groups to further plan and organize further actions to defend Mental Health Services against the proposed cuts that MMH&SCT want to carry out. The Meeting will take place at MUN office at 1:30pm on Wednesday 30 Th December, 2015.
Manchester Mental Health & Social Care Trust after a meeting at Manchester Town Hall (details here) in discussion with Manchester City Council (chaired), Unison Health Workers Union, Royal Collage of Nursing and ourselves (MUN) thereafter it was agreed after further talks and much augments an agreement was made for the public to be able to contribute to a Trust formal consultation which began on the 8 Th December, 2015. Mental Health Services – Manchester Mental Health & Social Care Trust Plans to Stop some of our Services
Manchester Users Network is fighting to save all our services, there must not be any cuts to our services, to staffing levels or to the last remaining services that are now left for patients to attend or use . Manchester Services Users can expect more medication, more hospitalization and more of a prison service and less of a NHS organisation that’s taking care of its patients with tried and tested regime’s ; that have been working to keep it’s people healthy with good cost effectiveness .
The Trust is leading a public consultation regarding its plans to stop some of its services. This consultation is supported by the North, Central and South Clinical Commissioning Groups (Manchester CCGs) and will run from 8 December 2015 until 21st February 2016. The services that the Trust is planning to stop include:
- Benchmark
- The Chronic Fatigue Programme
- Creative Wellbeing – Start and Studio 1
- Green Wellbeing
- Individual Placement and Support (Employment services working within Community Mental Health Teams)
- Psychosexual Service
- Specialist Affective Disorder Service.
